NATURE.

hallie and i took a hike around our pond a few weeks ago. the cows have made some perfect walking trails and we had a blast exploring the wilderness.

two adventurers are we!

it is amazing to me how quickly i forget that we have this amazing resource right in front of our home. as soon as we got under the trees it was like a different world. my little tree climber was all over the place. she was in heaven.

until the spiderweb incident, but let's not talk about that. *shiiiiiver*

we also found a corpse of a deer (?) that was super gruesome and awesome. that held our attention for quite some time.

it was one of those magical afternoons. she had my full attention and we had really soaked up that time together.

GRATITUDE 3.0

1. oranges.

2. hallie's love of horses.

3. a hands-on husband.

i am obsessed lately with oranges. and i am grateful for them, because they are sneaky. they make me think i am eating something sinfully sweet and bad for me...and they are soooooo good. i eat at least one a day. maybe that's why i haven't gotten hit with the bug that is currently taking down my family, one by one? interesting.

i know i say it a lot, but i love that hallie loves horses. she is so unique and i am grateful that she can love something without needing other little girls in the same thing. it makes me happy.

dave. period. he's a good day, a hands-on husband and is good for my sanity. and bad for my sanity, but it balances out. if we can get the flu and taxes behind us, we will have a good rest of april.

the end.

GRATITUDE 2.0

1. double dates

2. hot tea

3. exercise

we had a double date with great friends last week. (isn't double date such a fun phrase to say? i told hallie we were going on a double date and she thought it sounded hilarious). they are such good friends and wonderful people.

you know, there are just some friends with whom you can talk about anything. we can talk about    (w)horses (haha, inside joke), our kiddos and our love for Jesus.

i think as a couple, it's important to go on dates and spend one-on-one time together. i think there's also something to be said for double dates, where you can enjoy adult conversation without feeding/wrangling children.

i am feeling very blessed today for friendship.

and hot tea. i'm feeling some co-worker stress lately while at work. having a hot cup of tea seems to help me relax and let it go. let it goooooooooo. done.

and speaking of helping me feel better - exercise. the benefits are so awesome and i feel so much better when i am exercising daily. i took a zumba class for the first time last night. it was fun to work out with people! i usually work out on my lunch hour. in the basement. at work. not super fun, but i have created quite a gym for myself down there.

also, hallie likes to put on her pint-sized sports bra and workout with me at home. side plank!

the end.
